Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) NOT for Individual TBI Diagnosis
Apr 14
The use of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to diagnose traumatic brain injury (TBI) in an individual patient is not supported by current scientific consensus or professional guidelines.
“Advanced neuroimaging techniques, including diffusion tensor imaging (DTI)… remain investigational and are not recommended for routine clinical use in the diagnosis or prognostication of traumatic brain injury at the individual patient level.”
